The Programme

The Cape Winelands Journey – for Wine Lovers

Departure from Cape Town 8am pick-up

Collected from your central location by your qualified guide and driver.

Morning: Stellenbosch — The Heart of the Winelands

Our first stop takes you into the soul of Stellenbosch, South Africa’s second-oldest town. As you stroll along historic Dorp Street, past whitewashed gables and art-filled galleries, your guide will share insights into the town’s legacy — from its 17th-century origins to its modern-day role as the culinary capital of the Cape.

Boutique Mountain Winery

We then ascend into the Jonkershoek Valley, where a family-owned boutique estate welcomes you to an intimate tasting among the mountains. Here, each bottle is a labour of love — hand-harvested, handcrafted, and deeply expressive of its unique terroir.

Your tasting unfolds against a backdrop of sweeping vistas, where the vines meet wilderness and the air hums with quiet serenity. Expect elegant reds and refined blends, guided by a host whose stories reveal the artistry behind every pour.

Helshoogte Pass & Artisan Wine Estate

Our journey continues over Helshoogte Pass, a road that lives up to its name — “Heavenly Heights.” The views expand into a panorama of vineyards and valleys that could steal anyone’s breath.

We pause at an estate renowned not only for its world-class wines but also for its striking integration of art and architecture. Between sculptures, galleries, and glass walls that open to endless mountain views, you’ll savour a tasting that engages every sense.

Each wine here — whether a bright Chardonnay or a bold red blend — tells a story of balance, patience, and craftsmanship.

Franschhoek – The French Corner

A scenic drive carries us into the Franschhoek Valley, where French Huguenots brought their viticultural knowledge in the 17th century, forever shaping the Cape’s wine culture. The valley feels like a page from a French countryside tale — elegant, fragrant, and framed by towering mountains.

Lunch at a Historic Wine Estate

At midday, we arrive at a heritage estate dating back to 1695, where fine food and fine wine converge in perfect harmony. Your inclusive lunch is a sensory celebration — seasonal ingredients, plated with finesse, paired with estate wines that echo the terroir outside your window.

In this timeless setting, time slows. Conversation deepens. And each sip feels like a tribute to the generations who cultivated this land with passion and perseverance.

Afternoon Reflections – Wine, Art, and Legacy

The afternoon brings a final tasting at the same estate, where every pour is steeped in heritage. Wander through sculpture gardens and museum spaces that trace the lineage of South African wine-making, where art, history, and the landscape converge in quiet dialogue.

On our return journey, we make a meaningful stop at Drakenstein Prison, the site of Nelson Mandela’s final walk to freedom in 1990. Standing at those gates, your guide shares the story of that defining moment — a reminder that freedom, like fine wine, is cultivated through time, struggle, and hope.

As we journey back toward Cape Town, golden light spills over the vineyards, a fitting close to a day filled with beauty, reflection, and the joy of discovery.

4:00 PM – Return to Cape Town City Centre
