Travel Itinerary
8:00 AM – DEPARTURE FROM CAPE TOWN CITY CENTRE
MORNING: STELLENBOSCH – THE HEART OF WINE COUNTRY
STELLENBOSCH ORIENTATION AND HISTORIC DORP STREET WALK
We arrive in Stellenbosch, South Africa's second-oldest European settlement, founded in 1679. This university town exudes old-world charm whilst maintaining a vibrant, youthful energy. As we drive through the historic centre, your guide will point out architectural treasures, centuries-old oak trees planted by early settlers, and the cultural landmarks that define this elegant town.
We pause for a leisurely walk along historic Dorp Street, where whitewashed Cape Dutch gables, Victorian facades, and Georgian town houses create a living museum of South African architectural heritage. The tree-lined streets invite contemplation, the cafés and galleries speak of a thriving creative community, and everywhere you look, history whispers from preserved buildings that have stood for three centuries.
MID-MORNING: ARTISANAL EXPERIENCE
OLIVE OIL TASTING AT ACCLAIMED WINE ESTATE
We ascend to a renowned wine estate celebrated not only for its exceptional wines but also for its award-winning olive oil production. Perched atop Helshoogte Pass with commanding views across valleys and mountains, this property has mastered the art of transforming olives into liquid gold.
In an elegant tasting room, your expert host will guide you through the nuances of extra virgin olive oil—teaching you to identify peppery notes, fruity undertones, and the qualities that distinguish exceptional oil from ordinary. You will learn about harvest timing, pressing methods, and the careful attention required to preserve delicate flavours.
JOURNEY TO HERITAGE FARM
Departing the mountain estate, we travel deeper into the winelands towards one of the Cape's most extraordinary properties—a meticulously restored historic farm where heritage, sustainability, and beauty converge.
LATE MORNING: HERITAGE FARM AND GARDEN
GARDEN TOUR AT HISTORIC CAPE DUTCH FARM
We arrive at one of the Cape's most extraordinary properties—a meticulously restored Cape Dutch farm whose history stretches back centuries. But it is the gardens that truly captivate: eight acres of productive beauty where over 300 varieties of vegetables, fruits, and herbs grow in stunning geometric beds inspired by the Company's Garden laid out by Jan van Riebeeck in 1652.
FARM-TO-TABLE LUNCH
Following your garden exploration, we settle into the estate's acclaimed farm-to-table restaurant, where floor-to-ceiling windows blur the boundary between indoor dining and garden panorama. The philosophy here is simple yet profound: ingredients harvested mere steps from the kitchen, prepared with respect for their inherent flavours, and served with minimal intervention.
Your inclusive lunch showcases the best of what the farm and surrounding region offer.
Each bite tells a story of soil, sun, seed, and the skilled hands that nurture them
AFTERNOON
ARTISANAL TASTING VILLAGE
PASSPORT TO FLAVOUR AT INNOVATIVE ARTISAN COLLECTIVE
Our final stop takes us to a pioneering destination that has transformed the traditional tasting experience into something far more engaging—an artisan village where multiple craft producers have gathered under one roof, each offering their speciality with passion and expertise.
Upon arrival, you will receive your tasting passport—your invitation to embark on a self-guided journey of discovery across five distinct artisanal experiences. You have two hours to explore at your own pace, choosing to visit all the vendors or focusing on those that most intrigue you. This is your adventure to craft as you wish.
YOUR PASSPORT INCLUDES:
- Wine Tasting – Six carefully selected wines showcasing the estate's diverse portfolio, from crisp whites to robust reds
- Charcuterie Tasting – Six artisanal cured meats, each revealing the craft of traditional preservation and flavour development
- Craft Beer Tasting – Four premium beers ranging from light and refreshing to rich and complex
- Gin Tasting – Two distinctive gins infused with indigenous fynbos botanicals and delicate rose water, served with premium tonic water
- Chocolate Tasting – A curated selection of fine chocolates, from single-origin bars to creative flavour combinations
The various vendors are positioned within comfortable walking distance of each other across the property. You are encouraged to determine your own route, to linger where curiosity strikes, to engage with the passionate artisans behind each craft. At each stop, present your passport to be stamped—a tangible record of your journey
